Aquarium Window Installation
Aqualife has the technical expertise and inhouse engineers to provide aquarium window installation with glass or acrylic panels. Our team is perfectly capable of designing and submitting to the General Contractor the shop drawings of the rebates. The acrylic window rebates can be either concrete or steel. The rebate is the frame that holds the acrylic or glass aquarium window in position. There are two basic types of rebates, the three side support rebates and the four side support rebates. Both options need attention to every detail to achieve perfect installation results and no leakages. Most of the leakage issues happen because of poor rebate design and not proper preparation of the rebate surfaces.
Aqualife is the only professional aquarium window installer in the market that takes under its contractual liability the repairs and the preparation of the concrete or steel rebates. Although our competition will try to avoid this liability, we at Aqualife have the confidence and experience to handle this task so that the general contractor or the client will not have to deal with liability disputes and project delays.
Aqualife’s standard aquarium window installation contracts include the preparation of the concrete or steel surfaces related to the rebates. We request from the general contractor only to sand blast or grind the latent materials. In addition Aqualife has the epoxy injection tools and experts to assess and perform concrete epoxy injections on cold joints and concrete cracks. This service is a great addition to our ordinary scope of work related to the installation of aquarium windows. This way we secure the client for the end result and leakage free acrylic window applications.
Aquarium Windows Contractor
Once Aqualife is contracted, we confirm the design of the rebates and we submit the approved plans for manufacturing the acrylic panels. Our company works closely with the most premium acrylic manufacturers to secure on-time delivery and the best cost for our clients.
Aqualife also provides aquarium management and aquarium operation services as a contractor.
Aqualife carries a 10 million Euros professional indemnity insurance contract that covers all its services globally.
Rebate Casting Inspection
As soon as the general contractor notifies Aqualife that all rebates are casted or welded and they are in place, an onsite preliminary inspection takes place. During this visit, we make sure to confirm the routing plan to the installation location. In most cases, the onsite access is limited or has particularities. Once we confirm the access, we inspect the quality of casting. At this stage, the general contractor must have the rebates sand blasted and free of any casting material. Therefore Aqualife’s window installation experts will closely examine the rebate opening dimensions. In addition they will examine the quality of the concrete cast or steel welding.
It’s almost impossible to have a perfect rebate as per the shop drawings. Therefore we conduct this inspection prior to dispatching the acrylic panels and prior to shipping the repair materials and our acrylic panel installation tools. The acrylic panels dispatch only after Aqualife’s confirmation. Lastly, we confirm with the general contractor the safe and appropriate location to store the acrylic panels, the installation materials and tools as soon as they arrive onsite.
Rebate Preparation for Aquariums
Aqualife installation experts arrive onsite by the time the surface humidity of the newly casted concrete is below 4%. This is crucial to confirm according to the technical data sheet of our repair and waterproofing materials. Afterwards we examine thoroughly the acrylic windows and the consecutive rebates to confirm that the installation can happen without obstacles. At this stage the installation starts with epoxy crack injection repairs. Later on, we grind the surface to get a fine and smooth surface. All waterproofing preparation on the rebates occurs at this stage. Please contact Aqualife for more details on which material is appropriate for each surface and each project case.
Acrylic Panel Installation
Once the rebates are prepared, we prepare the acrylic panel surfaces that will be inserted into the rebates. Aqualife does provide neither the erection tools nor the crane services. The reason for this is that each country and location has its own providers and usually the general contractor has an agreement or a fixed crane onsite to facilitate this service. However our company will provide the appropriate stripes to move the acrylic panels. These stripes are specific not to scratch the acrylic.
Our team will make sure that each stripe is calculated to lift the load of each acrylic panel, without stressing the stripes or the acrylic panels. Aqualife guides the crane operator and positions the acrylic panels safely into position. All erection and installation work must be backed up by an Erection Insurance policy plan. Aqualife experts carry a medical and life insurance coverage. Consequently our staff will work only under the strictest safety procedures. So, once the acrylic panels are aligned and they are in position, we secure them and proceed to the aquarium waterproofing. Once the installation is over, we secure the acrylic panels by applying a thick plastic protective film. There are different methods of installation for each aquarium project. Please contact Aqualife to get a detailed method statement related to aquarium window installation.
Aquarium Windows Installation Hydrotest
Aqualife will be present during the first water fill of the tank. All other parties such as pool finish contractors, MEP services and concrete waterproofing should be over before water gets filled for the first time. We will perform the hydrotest and seek for any possible leakages. Finally our staff will give instructions about the next steps depending on this stage.
Waterproofing Certificate & Warranty
Aqualife submits an all inclusive warranty certificate. Moreover our company provides instructions for safe and appropriate ways to clean and transport the acrylic panels. All aquarium acrylic windows installed by Aqualife come with a 10 year structural and optical warranty. The warranty covers swimming pool window installation and consequently every acrylic application.
