How to repair the rebates and waterproof a swimming pool?
Some old swimming pools have civil engineering flaws and present water leakages after a period of time. This specific project wasn’t an exception. To repair the rebates and properly waterproof the swimming pool a specific process should be followed be expert waterproofing technicians. It was a high risk project involving the scope to waterproof the concrete swimming pool basin and cover the liability of the water tightness of this old structure. It was shared with us that this concrete structure had serious civil structure failures, with water leakages from multiple locations, not only from the sealant joints. Aqualife removed the panels, repaired the concrete rebates and applied Aqualife Method Statement of installation for the swimming pool windows. These old acrylic panels were crazed and had multiple acrylic scratches and dumbness that needed acrylic buffing. Once the panels were out of the rebates, we securely stored them and started refurbishing the acrylic surfaces both wet and dry side. The panels were soon back to optimum clarity and we re-installed the windows. In the meantime, we epoxy injected the cold joints and waterproofed the pool basin.
