An iconic stainless steel pool connecting two hotel buildings with transparent floor acrylic window panels. A structural and technical challenge was undertaken by Aqualife awarded by ETLAD DUBAI to re-install the floor acrylic panels and provide structural solutions to achieve waterproofing. To perform this we had to reposition the acrylic panels, remove corrosive materials from the old fixation and perform a Finite Element Analysis study to expose the weak structural points of that installation.
The stainless pool with transparent floor is located in Dubai at the roof top of Ibis Airport hotel. For this installation we made special considerations for proper materials to bond with stainless steel & at same time not being corrosive to PMMA acrylic panels and be stable and durable at extreme structure movement and temperature fluctuations.
