Acrylic Panel Refurbishment & Sealant Application
The Danish Theming Expert company Pangea Rocks awarded to Aqualife to polish, repair and waterproof the RPT (Reynold’s Polymer Technology) acrylic panel installation at MEGA Mall aquarium in Lithuania.
The aquarium is the highlight of the MEGA Shopping and Leisure Centre, which immediately catches the visitors’ eyes. It is the biggest aquarium in the Baltic countries! It’s height is 10m, it’s width is 4m and it’s length is 11m. The total water capacity is 170,000 litres.
The project was initially delivered in December 2005 and it was time for a complete renovation. After 13 years, the sealant adhesiveness has weakened and all joints needed complete refurbishment and new sealant application. Aqualife removed and cleaned thoroughly the surfaces and re-applied the sealant. The RPT curbed acrylic panels had to be sanded and to be polished again to perfection. Aqualife technicians used latest techniques to speed up the process and secured a final result equal to the first day these panels left Colorado, US, HQ of RPT. Another landmark project successfully delivered by Aqualife.
