Concrete Repairs & Waterproofing Services - F.A.Q.
Our crack injection systems seal the passage of water through dry or wet cracks or cold joints. Our resin and PU injections create a watertight curtain behind the building envelope. This is done specifically to prevent water from entering the structure. In addition, our solutions include closing, sealing and bridging leaking cracks in new and existing concrete and GRP/FRP structures. Our solutions work at high and medium pressure injection. We have specialty resins that react with humid surfaces and seal the water
passage. Our methos can be applied on dry side to seal wet side while the wet side is full with water. Our results are immediate. Please contact us today to arrange an on-site appointment with our specialists so that we can provide you with a solution.
Effective joint sealing is essential to ensure the functionality and durability of any building. Although joint sealing is only a small part of the overall
construction cost, it is often responsible for ensuring weather tightness. This in turn is crucial for maintaining a sound water basin. Our solutions therefore include different approaches to complex water leakage problems in aquariums and swimming pools. Please contact us today to arrange an on- site appointment with our specialists. We will be able to provide you with a
solution.
The waterproofing of water retention basins can only be achieved through careful planning. The right choice of waterproofing materials is also very important. Finally, it is the professional execution with quality control on site that completes the right process. Aqualife has extensive experience with cementitious coatings, epoxy patches and EPDM linings and polyurea applications. Please contact us today to arrange an onsite appointment with our specialists.
Cracks and defective joints in concrete structures can be caused by a number of factors. These can include subsidence, thermal stresses, poor workmanship and daily use of the structure. If these cracks are water- bearing, they can either jeopardise the structure or restrict the use of the area.
Acrylic Polishing Services - F.A.Q.
Strength of acrylic sheets:
Acrylic is 16 times stronger than glass. The seams are joined at a molecular level and not “glued” together as with glass and silicone.
Weight of the acrylic sheet:
Acrylic weighs only half as much as a similar sized glass sheet. Normally, the weight of the aquarium structure is limited due to the structural limitations of the base plate. Acrylic panels are far less heavy and easier to install than glass panels.
Clarity of acrylic panels:
High quality cast acrylic panels offer the best visibility compared to any other glass panels available. Glass aquariums, with the exception of low iron glass/extra chiarro or extra clear glass, have a light transmission of around 70% and have a greenish tint. The thicker the glass, the more pronounced the green tint. Acrylic glass is optically clear and has a light transmission of around 95%. Acrylic also has the same refractive index as water, which
gives the impression that the acrylic sheets are thinner than they actually are.
Finally, acrylic has no haze and minimal magnification compared to
conventional glass sheets.
Acrylic sheet insulation:
Acrylic is a far better insulator than glass. It is considered to be about 20 % more efficient than glass in aquariums. Aquarium inhabitants live in a more stable environment, resulting in healthier and happier fish, invertebrates and/or corals.
Repairability of acrylic panels:
Acrylic panels are easily scratched. With proper cleaning, regular
maintenance and a tank built to the correct specifications (i.e. not too little, as with so many mass-produced tanks), it is unlikely that many scratches will occur. However, repairing scratches is easier and quicker than many people realise. Scratches on the outside can be repaired very quickly with a few standard tools (e.g. sandpaper of different grits, electric drill, buffing disc and abrasive). On the wet side, we carry out the repair with a pneumatic drill so that we do not have to empty the aquarium or remove the livestock!
Different grades of sandpaper and MicroMesh are enough to solve the problem in a relatively short time.
